On August 25th, 2024, The Lancaster County 911 Center had dispatched Garden Spot Fire Rescue and New Holland EMS to the area of Sheep Hill and Springville Roads in East Earl Township for an auto accident involving a horse and buggy.
Ambulance 8-1 was returning to our district from a previous call that was transported to Ephrata Hospital and the crew unexpectedly pulled up on the accident.
Ambulance 8-1 was the first arriving EMS unit, and our crew jumped into action and assisted fellow responders already on the scene by providing the necessary equipment needed for the two patients that were seriously injured from the horse and buggy.
Garden Spot Fire Rescue units arrived along with New Holland EMS and WellSpan Medics. All crews OnScene worked collaboratively to provide the patients with the best possible care.
New Holland EMS units transported the patients to an area trauma center. Ambulance 8-1's crew was released from the scene by New Holland EMS Chief Darrell Fisher.
Garden Spot Fire Rescue units remained on the scene to provide lighting and traffic control for the police department. |
