On May 22nd, 2025, at 00:08 Keystone Valley Fire Department along with area mutual aid were dispatched to the Parkesburg School Apartments for a building fire.

Keystone Valley Fire Department units along with mutual aid made the response and were advised by the Chester County 911 Center that the caller reported a moderate smoke condition on the 3rd floor with a fire alarm activation. Additional callers reported possible food on the stove with an evacuation of the building in progress.

Deputy 8 (Cazillo) arrived and held the command for this incident and switched all units to an operations channel. Ambulance 8 and Parkesburg Police Department were instrumental in assisting the residents with evacuating from the building. Ladder 8 arrived and took the 1st due Special while Engine 8 took the first due Engine assignment. Interior crews reported food on the stove and mitigated the situation quickly. As the mutual aid units arrived they were given their assignments by the commander.

Due to the quick response by all volunteer personnel the fire was held to it's point of origin and the assignment was held to the units on-scene. Thankfully no injuries were reported and Ambulance 8 stood-by and provided rehab for the fire personnel while they operated on the scene. Personnel then used exhaust fans to ventilate the smoke from the building and Deputy 8 placed the situation under control. The remaining mutual aid units were released from the scene by Deputy 8.

All Keystone Valley Fire Department units cleared the scene at 00:59.
