John's sense of duty was further exemplified during his military service in the United States Army, where he demonstrated his commitment to serving his country.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, John was a proud member of the American Legion, fostering connections with fellow veterans and giving back to his community. He also loved animals and had numerous fur babies throughout his lifetime.

John is also survived by his sister, Patricia Stevenson of Green Lawn, PA, his brother, Dave Somerday of PArkesburg, PA, his sister-in-law, Pat Groff, and his brother-in-law, Bob Patterson. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
