On October 28th, 2025, at 17:13 Keystone Valley Fire Department along with area mutual aid were dispatched to the West Sadsbury Commons Shopping Center for a reported building fire.

Keystone Valley Fire Department units along with mutual aid made the response and were advised by the Chester County 911 Center that the caller at Game Stop reported grey smoke was coming from the ceiling along with an odor of something burning.

Lancaster Assistant Chief 42 (Slaymaker) arrived with nothing showing from the "Alpha" side. Assistant 42 held the command for this incident and gave the arriving units their incoming instructions as they arrived. Ladder 8 and Ladder 41 were instructed to position themselves in the front and rear of the building and check the HVAC units on the roof. The Ladder crew reported a bad HVAC unit, and the assignment was held to units on the scene.

Crews setup for ventilation and the situation was placed under control by Assistant 42. Once the smoke was cleared from the store the property was turned back over to management, and the assignment was made available.

All units cleared the call at 17:46.
