West Sadsbury Township Host Life-Saving Commendation Presentation For First Responders!

On November 11th, 2025, Members of the Keystone Valley Fire Department, Westwood Fire Company Paramedic's, West Sadsbury Township Police Department gathered at the West Sadsbury Township building to partake in a very special Life Saving Award presentation being hosted by the West Sadsbury Township Board of Supervisors.

Keystone Valley Fire Department Chief Marks Led the presentation by presenting attendees with the following back story to tonight's commendations.

On October 15th, 2025, at 9:13 Keystone Valley EMS along with Westwood Fire Company Paramedics were dispatched for a medical emergency in the 4000 block of W. Lincoln Highway in West Sadsbury Township. A few seconds later the call was updated to a cardiac arrest, and the Keystone Valley Fire Department was now added to the assignment. Luckily a West Sadsbury Township Police Officer (McCullough) happened to be at this location and initiated CPR on the patient. Medic 344 (Flynn) arrived, Officer (McCullough) worked collaboratively together providing lifesaving efforts until the arrival of Ambulances 8-1 and Ambulance 8-2. Crews continued CPR and ALS interventions were continued on the patient which the patient finally regained pulses thanks to the stellar efforts put forth by all responders on the scene.

The patient was transported to the hospital and with excellent care received at the facility along with some rehabilitation the patient made a full recovery. The citizen was able to attend tonight's presentation and personally met and greeted the responders that saved his life that day. The citizen spoke to the attendees of tonight's township meeting expressing his gratitude for the service he received that day.

The Officers and Members of the Keystone Valley Fire Department would like to thank the West Sadsbury Township Board of Supervisors and Community members for their continued support of not only our organization but all public safety organizations that help protect this great township.
