At 12:08 PM, KVFD, with a brush unit from Christiana Fire Co., were dispatched to a field fire in the 300 block of Lenover Hill Road, West Sadsbury Township, Chester County. Although it had been raining all day, a resident reported coming home to find a heavy smoke condition and a ring of fire in a field near their house.
KVFD responded with Chief 8, Chief Stackhouse, Ambulance 8-2, Rescue 8, Tac 8, and Brush 8. Brush 52 also responded. Upon investigation revealed that it was actually energized PP&L wires down in the field. All crew members maintained a safe distance and PP&L was notified to respond. After an assessment by Chief Stackhouse it was determined that no additional fire services were required, and Christiana, with KVFD soon following, were released. A PP&L crew was enroute with a 40 minute ETA.
